New Year...New You!!!

One of the resolutions or actually goals, I set for myself for 2010 was to try to lose 20lbs. This is something I say every year, and always seem to fall short, but this year is different. I am getting older and don’t want to have health issues when I am super old, due to something I could have easily fixed in my twenties. Plus I’ve been reading and watching a ton of weightless stories, which has got me very motivated to reach my goals.

To get things started I purchased two workout videos, both from the “Biggest Loser” series. “Biggest Loser”: The Work-out – 30 Day Jump Start

and “Biggest Loser: Last Chance Work-out

I chose these two as my starting videos because they both set out reachable goals, plus the people in the video looked like real people (and I figured if they could do it, so could I). I also picked up the “Biggest Loser” 30-Day Jump-start book (but after flipping through it, this might be going back to the store, its not that great!!)

and the 2010 Calorie King Calorie, Fat and Carbohydrate Counter

My hope was to use them to find healthy meals and figure out my daily calorie intake. From things I’ve read I should be able to eat 1200 calories and still lose around 1 to 2 pounds a week.

I also bought several Luna Bars for snacks,

Let me tell you I was very apprehensive about trying them. I can happily say that after eating the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut this morning, I am no longer apprehensive. It was sooooooooooo good (and we all know how picky I am….remember this )

I am trying to be very realistic with these new changes and cut myself some slack. This is something I really want, so I am going to give it my all. Plus I am way too cute to be chubby….LOL!!

  4. good luck. it's so hard. 1200 calories isn't very many tho, u might want to consider going a bit higher especially if u exercise. i think 1600 is reasonable. i lost 20 lbs. last summer eating about that and exercising 45 minutes/5 days a week. keep us posted & never give up. i failed so many times before i succeeded. good luck! ps. i LOVE that strawberry shortcake at cheesecake factory 2!!

  6. Sounds like you've got a great plan ahead of you! It's good that you're trying to stay realistic about all of your changes, too. I think that's what's key. Too many times people end up failing because they tried to change too much too fast. I can't wait to hear about your progress! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!! :)

    P.S. -- I think you're gorgeous!!
