Weekend Recap...

This weekend actually felt normal…I got to sleep in, or at least tried to. My body must be use to get up early, because I tried my darndest, but I was up super early.

Friday was a Holiday so we had the whole day to spend together and it was great. The boy has started running, and since the weather was pretty awesome me and Loco went along to do a little walking.

We went out with friends for drinks and dinner…and someone had WAY too many mimosa’s and lost their wallet, only to realize it the next day, then they found out by the restaurant that a good Samaritan had turned it in. Go to pick it up from the restaurant to find it was run over and one of my cards was broken and the others were bent up. I am just elated that someone turned them in…and I can still use them until I get my new ones in the mail.

Saturday we tried a new local ice cream place in town called “Lick”….AMAZING is all I can say.

We got to try so many unique and fun flavors, and I settled on Carrot/Tarragon and Vanilla Bean, while the boy ended up with mix mosh of four flavors…one including cilantro lime…which was EXCELLENT.

Movies later that night to see “Immortals’, which was just okay. (Totally should have waited for Netflix) Finished off the weekend with wedding hair pieces and boutonnières and baked butter and sugar.

The only thing freaking me out, is the forecast of rain this weekend.  Its pouring as I am typing and I am hoping we don't endure it this weekend....BOO!!

Whats going on....

Sometimes I forget how cool Austin truly is…

Right now they are filming a movie outside of my office. We haven’t quite figured out what it is, but let me tell you if I see Ryan Reynolds walking around town, I will be in jail for STALKING!!

Also, last night I missed out on meeting Kat Van D and slapping the hell out of Jesse James. Word on the block was she was doing a book signing at our local Barnes and Nobles, and he was lurking around in the shadows.
I’ve just recently started watching her show LA. Ink and I really like her style.  I love the mix of edgy rock roll with a splash of girlieness tied in.  Plus I am a sucker for a chick with tattoos, especially when they are not all trashy....(I'm just saying, we've all seen those ghetto tattoos floating around our local Walmarts...LOL)

So today Miss Von D is my style Icon...

Love her new red hair (even though I am pretty sure its a wig)

(Also you can actually order the headband she is wearing from Etsy Seller Giant Dwarf).

Delish....

So, I consider myself to be a Cupcake Connoisseur and when I heard a new cupcake bakery opened up by my office I made a made dash over there. The place is called Delish and the set up was super cute.

I was rather disappointed with the owner though, she wasn’t really friendly and had a real stank attitude. See, I am one of those people who ask questions, you know gets a feel for the business and she was acting like I was annoying her or taking up her time…..even though I was the only one in the shop. I feel like if your going to have a business, especially a bakery, its nice to mingle and make nice with the customers.

I had no choice but to give them a demerit for poor customer service, so I decided to let the cupcakes do the talking. The cupcakes were okay, not the best in Austin, but worth taking a cupcake break in the middle of the day.

Strawberry

I will openly admit since I bake all the time, I am really snobby when it comes to other people’s baked goods. I remember once someone in our office brought in cupcakes, I decided to be adventurous and try one….YUCK!! It was so gross, and I think it was from a box which made matters worse. I feel like if your going to bring in something to represent yourself, bring you’re A game to the table.

Pecan Festival

Just came back from the Pecan Festival downtown. I love street festivals, because of the all great street food, and I got my fair share of it today:

1. A Jumbo corndog
2. Cave man size Turkey leg
3. Brautwurst
4. and I washed it all down with a SMALL bag of kettle corn:

Another fun thing about these festivals is the fun sight seeing you get to do, here are some the fun things that caught my eye:

1. Weave in the street
This just boggled my mind, how the HELL do you loose your weave in the middle of the street. I mean was this person walking down the street and felt their weave get loose and just said "Oh well guess I will just toss it". I felt bad for the poor little weave, and brought it home, if anyone is looking to adopt a nice piece a weave please send me an email.....Just kidding!!!
2. Worst looking Drag Queen.......EVER!!!!!!

I almost knocked over a small child to get a picture of this guy. The only words I can describe his look was HOT MESS!!! I mean I am all for Drag Queens, but this guy should get his membership revoked ASAP.

Today was a fun day, but it was Hot as Hades outside, so our visit to the festival was short lived. I am now sitting in the AC enjoying my yummy Sonic Limeade and about to go the movies!
Hope you all had a great weekend!!!
