Weekend Recap....(Thanksgiving Edition)

Thanksgiving was so nice and low key. The Turkey came out PERFECT and I totally have to give my FI a high five for making magic with that thing.

He started the turkey early that morning and it was ready by noonish….now on my end I didn’t roll out of bed until about 1:30 and I only had to do the sides, which took WAY longer than expected, plus I wanted to show off some of my culinary expertise and insisted on making everything by scratch. So we didn’t actually eat dinner until 7, but it was so GOOD, it was totally worth the wait.

We had Cajun turkey, buttermilk biscuits, mashed sweet potatoes and my take on green been casserole (Green beans, green onions, bacon, mushroom soup topped with turkey stuffing).

Then for dessert I went all out and made Banana Cream Pie all from scratch (and totally forgot to take a picture of it).

The rest of the weekend we just chilled out and enjoyed as much time together as possible. We picked out our wedding colors, Cobalt Blue and Grey

We purchased the look for the boy

(he is going to look so DAPER, and not so much like an Asian drug lord)

I looked at dresses (which I am totally undecided on, but I do know I want something tea-length).

(Loving this dress, but can only imagine a boob falling out...just saying)

I had a horrible experience with a sales girls at David’s Bridal telling me that they only had 2 dresses in MY SIZE for me to try on…BITCH PLEASE…people can be so rude!! At this point I have looked at several online retailers and currently emailing with an Esty seller about a custom dress, so I will keep you informed. We also picked the venue for the ceremony; Dreamy is the only word I can use to explain it. It’s going to be picture perfect for our small intimate wedding.

(Photos via Google)

I have to admit the whole idea of wedding planning was stressing me out, but all of sudden things are falling into place.

We also went to the most AMAZING restaurant supply store; they had everything you could think of for super cheap. I had to really talking myself out the industrial margarita machine, but am really thinking about going back for the funnel cake supplies.

We also got some additonal work done on some old tattoos, when I get a chance I will post some updated pictures of the work.

You can kind of see mine in this picture...

Weekend Recap...

I got my sleep on this weekend, because we worked our little butts off, making these amzing Cream Puff Swans.

I then woke up dying for crepes.  The place we normally go to Flip Happy (which has the BEST Crepes EVER) was about to close, which sucked, but I put on my STUNNA Shades and made my best Snookie Face...

and ventured to a new crepe trailer.

The menu selection was much bigger and their crepes were HUGE.

I got a Florentine with chicken, swiss, cheese, spinach, caramelized onions and this chipotle mayo. I should have totally taken the mayo off my order, because it was SO hot. It totally ruined the meal for me even after we switched orders, I was over it. I truly believe I wanted my old crepe place and this place just didn’t do it for me.

Then we ran into Big Lots, to kill some time and I saw Cupcake Chewies for Dogs. They were even vanilla flavored.

My poor fur baby has some serious food allergies so we have to be really selective on his food and treats, so he missed out on these goodies. (But trust me, he is so SPOILED he not missing out on anything!!)

I also found my dream Christmas tree….can you guess which one?

All and all our weekend was pretty low key, but relaxing.  I did have to endure 2 hours of the movie "JackAss" (and it was even in 3D...BOO), but everything can't be perfect.

This weekend the plan includes, new MAC lipstick, salted caramel banana cream pie, fresh tattoos and lots of lots of SLEEP...Woo HOO!!..

TGIF...

Last night I took my first test and did pretty well overall. I went in feeling pretty confident, but was totally knocked off my pedestal when I saw how our instructor graded.  I now know better for next time, so no more mistakes!! School is still going very well, every night were banging out 3 or 4 desserts at a time, so your learning a lot in a short amount of time.  (As soon as I get a free minute I will post some more pictures) I am still adjusting to my lack of sleep and missing out on Maury each day.   ( THANK GOD FOR DV-R…LOL)

I am also learning without a full 8 hours or more of sleep I am not the most pleasant person.  Last night when I got out of my car at 11:30 I heard the weirdest sound to find that I had ran over a nail and my tire was going flat.  I was too tired to deal with it then, but this morning the BF..oops the FI stepped in and saved the day.  He gave me his car to drive to work/school and told me he would take care of my faulty tire.  Well what do I do, I call him at work to tell him he put WAY too much stuff in my lunch bag and it was too heavy....ya I am pretty much an ASS!!  I did apologize and let him know how much I appreciated him.

I am so glad next week is a short week  and a HOLIDAY. We bought a small turkey and I am a NERVOUS wreck to actually cook it.   Give me some flour and sugar and I am all good, give me 5lbs of raw meat and I want to pass out.  I am so scared I will over cook it or under cook it and KILL US...LOL!!  Any Advice or Tips??

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I highly recommend you check out this CD.

I am not a huge fan of hers, but I HEART this CD!!  ( Also, is anyone else really digging her hair and makeup on this cover?)

Weekend Recap....

I am still floating; I think its going to be awhile before I am officially jumping off this cloud. I still can’t believe last week.

I started my first week of culinary school looking quite cute if I say so my self.

I passed my first test scoring way better than I expected, since we literally took the test after 3 days of going over the information, but now I am a certified Food Manager. (Which basically means I am super grossed out by eating out now….all I can say is watch those people behind the counters and their dirty hands).

We started baking and I LOVE it. I love the learning process, I love the new people I am meeting in class and I love being able to spend 5 hours each night working on perfecting my passion.

Now on to the good stuff….

The proposal, the engagement, the love of my life….its was so crazy and totally unexpected. I meet my soon to be during a time when I needed a friend and he was just that. We became the best of friends and honestly I had no desire to date him, but after spending time with him and seeing what a wonderful person he was it was very easy to fall in love.

On Saturday morning he surprised me with breakfast in bed and when I got ready to get up (and yes bed hair, bad breath and mis match pj’s were all involved) I looked over to find him down on one knee and a ring box. I didn’t even give him a chance to say anything, because the look on his face said it all. I can honestly say I will always remember that look on his face, the look that said I want you forever and always…bed head and all.

It was perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing about that day.  Right now were looking at November 2011 for a wedding date and we want something very small and fun. (so Vegas might be an option...but if I leave it up to him Costa Rica here we come).

I can't wait to share the details of my upcoming journey, thanks for staying for the ride!

Blessings...

I had plans to do my usually weekend post and being real I just have not had time. I started school on Monday and I can honestly say I LOVE it, but only after 2 days it is kicking my butt. We haven’t done much, but I am trying to get adjusted to working 8 hours, going directly to school and finally getting home around 11ish... its tough.

I am not complaining, because I’ve wanted this so BADLY and I truly feel BLESSED to be able to complete something on my dream list, it’s just an adjustment.

My BF has been beyond amazing, coming over to spend time with Mr. Loco so he is not alone all night and meeting me at the door with a PB&J sandwich and juice box (I have this weird obsession with Juice boxes…LOL). I am such a lucky girl to have this boy be all mine!!

I plan to still post on a regular basis, it may just be even more delayed than normal.

Whats going on....

Sometimes I forget how cool Austin truly is…

Right now they are filming a movie outside of my office. We haven’t quite figured out what it is, but let me tell you if I see Ryan Reynolds walking around town, I will be in jail for STALKING!!

Also, last night I missed out on meeting Kat Van D and slapping the hell out of Jesse James. Word on the block was she was doing a book signing at our local Barnes and Nobles, and he was lurking around in the shadows.
I’ve just recently started watching her show LA. Ink and I really like her style.  I love the mix of edgy rock roll with a splash of girlieness tied in.  Plus I am a sucker for a chick with tattoos, especially when they are not all trashy....(I'm just saying, we've all seen those ghetto tattoos floating around our local Walmarts...LOL)

So today Miss Von D is my style Icon...

Love her new red hair (even though I am pretty sure its a wig)

(Also you can actually order the headband she is wearing from Etsy Seller Giant Dwarf).

Weekend Recap....

My sister was planning on visiting for Halloween, but at the last minute her plans changed and she was unable to make it.  With the change of plans I wasn’t feeling very festive so I bailed on the idea of dressing up, this was the extent of my Halloweeness….

Instead the BF and I decided to hit the outlets and do some shopping, but I spent more time eating junk.  I stuffed myself with pretzels, frozen bananas, chocolate covered strawberries and I really wanted this caramel apple, but I had to draw the line somewhere. (actually I knew I had about 30lbs of chocolates at home that I needed to start on …LOL)

Photobucket

( I thought it would be fun to switch up my weekend wear pic...plus I wouldn't have to hear him complain about snapping a few pictures)

(This was the BIGGEST Rice Crispie Treat I had ever seen.)

I did have a little Halloween fun (well it was WAY more fun for me than the BF)…Basically I made it my mission to see how many times I could scare the boy during the week of Halloween.  I hid all over the place jumping out and scaring him.  I think by the end of the week I had made him super paranoid…but it was TOO FUNNY.  The finale included this mask…

Lets just say I almost peed my pants from laughing so hard….Its the little things in life …LOL
