Whats Up Wednesday....

I've been sick the last couple of days and was stuck at home in bed the other day, So I have not been very fun or entertaining.

Its been raining like crazy here the last few days and I was actually glad to be stuck at home, I hate driving in the rain, especially here in Texas. People here act like fools when it starts raining and feel the need to drive either insanely slow or ridiculously fast.

I am hoping it doesn’t rain this weekend, I have an agenda of Funnel Cake, Cotton Candy, and FIREWORKS!!!   I love when the carinval comes to town, mainly for the food and people watching. ( you couldn't pay me all the hello stuff in Japan to ride those sketchy rides...no way!!)

On a random side note  how cute is this drawing...

I came across the cutest blog and got her to doodle me...LOL!  Make sure to check out her blog here!

Weekend Recap....

Over the weekend I was able to meet up with Rachel from the Cupcakes Take the Cake Blog and dish a bit about Cupcakes.   She was super friendly and I dropped off some of my special banana and Nutella cupcakes for her to sample.

After the meeting the BF and I made a stop at the mall. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with this Japanese place in the food court called Sarku and I request that we eat there every weekend. (it’s all part of my addictive personality, I tend to find something I really love and then want it ALL the time…the BF can attest to this…LOL)

(I bought these soft rollers from Ross the other day and LOVED how my hair came out with them)

I’ve still yet to see "Toy Story 3", but think while after one is in "Eclipse" this weekend I will go and see it. There is no way in H-E-L-L-o Kitty you will catch me in that movie over the weekend. I love my freedom way to much and know I would be in jail for something dealing with those crowds.

The rest of the weekend we pretty much stayed the BF watching Soccer and I caught up on my new show Drop Dead Diva. We also watched "Its Complicated" with Meryl Streep and Steve Martin, very funny movie.

Also, I am thinking about upgrading my DSLR and wanted to get some recommendations.  Right now I have a Sony and Its a great camera, but need to upgrade to something better.  I have my eye on the Nikon D90, but wanted to get some feedback!!  Thanks!!

Weekend Recap....

Okay, so I am wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy late at getting this posted, especially since a new weekend is shortly coming up. (better late than never)

The BF and I didn’t make it to see “Toy Story 3”, somehow he is the only person on this earth that has not see the rest of the movies (even after I made the comment that its made for little kids, so it can’t possibly have this detailed plot line…LOL) so instead (**EYE ROLL**) we went and saw “Jonah Hex”. The movie was okay and totally confirmed that Megan Fox is a terrible actress.

(Can you believe how little her Freaking waist is.....INSANE!!!)

We also went to a graduation party for a friend I have not seen in years.

It was fun for about 2 mins, but we were quickly over the crowd and expensive drinks, so we slipped out and had my new favorite…FROZEN YOGART. We went to this uber hip place downtown called The Yummy Yo, I liked their stuff way better than the first place we went too.

The rest of the weekend was very laid back, its too darn hot to do anything. We enjoyed Cherry Limeades from Sonic and just stayed in watching movies.

I’ve also become addicted with the show “Drop Dead Diva” . I got it on my Netflix and have been laughing my head off. I highly recommend it!!!

Ps - Check out my other blog posts here!

TGIF...

I am so high right now….not in a bad way, but after an email I received I’ve been on cloud nine all day. I am so proud that my little company has been featured on one of the BEST cupcake blogs in the blogsphere.

Please take a minute to check it out here !!! (and if your not following my Dollface blog, expect a spanking…unless your into that and that’s a whole different story….LOL!!)

In weekend plans, is anyone else STOKED to see Toy Story 3 as I am?

I have been counting down the days, because this movie looks so FUNNY!! Every time I see the trailer with the dinosaur chatting online I die laughing. Were going to have to strategically plan the time we go, that will offer us the least amount of small children being there. But it always amazes me when we go to a midnight showing of something like Zombie Killers and see a 3 year old running around. If you can’t afford a babysitter stay your booty home, and who brings a small child to a horror movie!!! (I remember being scared to pieces when I saw the “Never Ending Story…LOL” )

I think the rest of the weekend I need to stay in and do some organizing. (My closet looks like it throw up)  I’ve bought so many new things for summer and though my wardrobe is expanding for some reason my closet is staying the same….What’s up with that?

I wish I could blink my eyes and have this.
(Damn you Carrie...you have it all)

In the Summer I am all about wearing dresses, and I’ve been coming across a ton of cute ones. I am not a shorts type of girl (terrified of starting a fire with my thighs rubbing together) so I live in dresses. I got these a few days ago, can’t wait to wear them!!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun filled weekend!!!

Working on my Fitness...

I’ve been talking in different posts about doing things to try and lose a few pounds. In the past I would jump on some type of bandwagon (Atkins, Jenny Craig, etc..) do good for a few days and initially lose interest and Fail.

Fail is such a nasty word; because it’s so preventable, especially if you follow this recipe:

The BF has been using this recipe for the last 6 months and has been rewarded sweetly. Everyday I look at him and I am so impressed and proud of all of his hard work and will power. Getting in shape and becoming healthy is not Easy (I mean if it was, everyone would look like Jake Gyllenhall...see previous post) You can’t help but want to do better for yourself when you see someone everyday making simple changes and reaping the benefits.

Baby, I am so PROUD of you, you’ve been working your butt off to get this far, and I know each day your getting healthier, stronger (and better looking….J/K) Your efforts make me get off my lazy butt and put in that STUPID P90X DVD (because I can’t have you looking better than me, and have some chick trying to steal you, after all the work I’ve put in…Lol)

Can anyone suggest any good songs to workout too...I downloaded a fitness playlist and its full of Heidi Montag (which is kind of ironic...LOL) .

Weekend Recap....

It’s been so nice not having any school work makes my weekends even nicer. Friday night the BF and finally went and saw the "Prince and Persia". It was a pretty good movie with tons of actions and lots and lots of ABS….thank you Mr. Gyllenhaal.

The movie reminded me of one of my favorite movies, The Scorpion King

(haven’t we already established I have cheesy taste in movies) with the Rock.

On Saturday we stopped by the mall and I got the cutest Hello Kitty T-shirt but it was WAY too small and when I tried it on, Hello Kitty’s head went from a circle to a HUGE oval…LOL. I had to exchange it and ended up getting this instead, which I actually like better.

On Sunday we did Five Guys (which I think has the BEST Burgers and those Cajun fries…Oh LORDY!!)

(Its funny just how different our minds work....LOL!!)

We also had frozen yogurt from this place called Yo So Cool, it was pretty yummy. Its one of those self serve places and you get a ton of toppings to choose from. Its was my first experience at a place like this, but I was good and did strawberry yogurt, Kiwi and Strawberries (and crushed waffle cone….shhhh) and the BF did a mixture of Peanut butter and chocolate frozen yogurt.

We also went to he late show and saw “Get him to the Greek" , it was funny, but definitely not the new Hangover like so many people have said. P Diddy worked my nerves throughout the whole movie….I can’t stand him!!!!

Oh....so Karma is a B-I-T-C-H....the BF totally got me back for that picture I posted the other day....LOL

(Loco is showing you his PLAYMATE pose)

Jump...

I’ve been home the last 2 days hiding…. I woke up on Tuesday with this awful feeling, and the only thing I could do was pull the covers up over my head and wait until the next day came…but it did come and I felt the same exact way.

I told the BF I think I am “Depressed” and he said you have an overacting imagination and think you’ve been watching way to many of those “Cymbalta” commercials. Okay, so maybe I am not suffering from depression, but I am suffering from Funkitis.

So, you ask what is Funkitis; let me give you a little history.

Furnkitis When you feel like you’re in that movie “Groundhog Day” and keep replaying the worse day ever. You awake each morning and dread the upcoming events and want nothing more than to bury yourself in a hole and hide until the weekend comes.
You can read more about it here

I am ready for a change; I need to break free from this place I’ve been stuck in for almost 3 years. Don’t get me wrong I feel blessed everyday to have something many people don’t have, but it’s time for something new. After years of being in school and finally being done, I finally know what I want to do when I grow up and I have to stop being scared and just JUMP!!! (I mean whats the worse that could happen...I could DROWN..I kid.. I kid.. only postive thinking)

Plus I am way to AWESOME  (please let me know if you didn't get that memo, I will have Loco forward it your way!!)  to be all sad and sulky!!!

What I can say is being home for a few days did let me clear my head, get A LOT of sleep in,  find that weird smell coming from my kitchen pantry (stupid potato) and find some new things to entertain me.

Loving this show ... (and the music they played on it)

Can’t stop playing their song, "If I Die Young" .

Weekend Recap....

I got to spend my weekend doing something I love…Baking. I was commissioned to do a graduation cake that turned out very cute.

I’ve also been working on another side project that I am not quite ready to dish about, but here is a small sneek peek.

The BF and I went and saw “Splice” this weekend, not at all what I expected. I laughed several times aloud at the craziness that was going on in this film…let’s just say it was a HOT MESS of a movie, but in a good way! (If that’s possible).

I haven’t talked about this for awhile, my weight-loss project, mainly because I was at a stand still and not losing anymore weight. Well the BF convinced me to try out P90X (because believe it or not he is getting in GREAT shape, using these videos.) and today was my first day. OH DEAR BABY JESUS…my arms feel like Jell-O (I am typing this with a chopstick in my mouth…LOL). I actually liked the workout and feel like the videos do a good job of making you feel like you are working with a personal trainer, who kicks my BOO-TAY!!!

On Sunday I got to check out the new Sanrio store, which was kind of disappointing. I am trying to chalk up the ick factor to the fact that the store is only a few weeks old. (Or it could have been the annoying sales girl....excuse me...woman, who was like 50 trying to be WAY too cool, and driving me INSANE). But I did leave with this and I was happy once again!!

I have to share the funniest picture. On Sunday I went in the kitchen for something and was literally in there for two seconds. I come around the corner and find this.
These two will fall asleep ANYWHERE in the blink of an eye.... Just proves the point that Boys are the all the same.(no matter the species...LOL!! )

I got "Carried" Away...

Just came back from seeing "Sex and the City 2"…very enjoyable.

The funny thing about the movie is, the plot is pretty much the same thing as "Shrek 2" (STOP READING IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE). Main character settling into new life….feeling like new life is repetitive and stale….wishes for old life….gets a taste of old life….realizes grass is not greener on the other side….appreciates what they already had….everyone breaks out into song and dance….THE END!!! (See I saved you $10.00...LOL)

I have to say I can relate to what Carrie was going through in the movie. I’ve been married and know how easily it is to feel like your losing yourself into a boring existence. In that relationship the person tried to change me into someone that was completely not me….moral of that story is that relationship ended.

Now I’ve found someone who truly loves me for me and would never expect me to change or be something I’m not and for this, I can say everyday is a new adventure and never boring…even if that means watching black and whites snuggled in bed.

I think when you really find the person your meant to be with you never lose that “SPARKLE”! And, don't get me wrong, its work...HARD WORK, but when its right you don't mind so much.

PS- Did anyone else LOVE... Liza's rendition of "Single Ladies" ?
